Department of Electric Power Engineering

The Department of "Electric Power Engineering"

is on the first steps of training high-level specialists in the country's energy sector

Since 2023, the Department of "Electric Power Engineering" has been opened at the L. N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, which also occupies a separate place in the specialty of the same name and takes the first steps in the field of education.

The development of countries has a very close connection with the production and use of energy. Here, energy is primarily meant electricity, since it can be converted into some form of energy, and many modern production and information technologies work directly with electric current.

There are two main problems in the electric power industry: the first is the production of electricity, the second is the transportation and optimal distribution of electricity for consumers. The implementation of these two directions in practice will ensure the country's energy security and increase its production in the coming years.

Currently, the department trains specialists in the educational programs "Electric Power Industry" for bachelor's and master's degrees. At the department, doctors and candidates of Sciences, PhD doctors and masters from Kazakhstan, Russia, China and Japan give lectures, conduct practical and laboratory classes for students.

More than 300 students study at the department in 1-3 courses of the specialty "Electric Power Engineering". Every year the number of applicants who have chosen this profession is growing.

Currently, contracts for industrial and pre-diploma practice have been concluded with the following organizations:

1) Astana-REC;

2) Akmola REC;
