INTERNSHIP OF ENU MASTER’S DEGREE STUDENTS AT LUBLIN POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY

Gulim Zhunis, Ainur Kyzyr, Moldir Kozhabekova, graduates of the 2nd course of the Department of Standardization and Certification of the Transport and Energy faculty in the Eurasian National University named after Yu. L.N. Gumilyov , underwent a scientific internship at Lublin Polytechnic University (Lublin, Poland) from November 28 to December 8, 2017.

 

 

The purpose of the scientific internship is to increase the level of theoretical and practical knowledge, exchange of experience, to collect information regarding the topics of dissertations, and to strengthen intercultural ties.

Technical University "Lublin Polytechnic" is one of the five state educational institutions in Lublin, being the only one technical institution of higher education. The attractiveness of the university is expressed, first of all, in a high level of education and modern educational programs. Lublin Polytechnic offers educational programs at the first level of education - bachelor's degree, engineer's level, master's degree, doctorate (post-graduate course). Most of the university's educational programs, where the training is conducted, was highly appreciated by the State Accreditation Commission.

Since the founding, Lublin Polytechnic has been training engineers, conducting scientific research, mainly for the Lublin region. The main areas of research are the development of design and technology, environmental protection, as well as saving materials and energy. Lublin Polytechnic carries out expertise and conducts consulting activities. The results of research in these areas are numerous scientific publications, as well as patents for inventions.

 

    There are 6 faculties at the University: 

·         Faculty of Construction and Architecture;

·         Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics;

·         Faculty of Environmental Engineering;

·         Faculty of Mechanics;

·         Faculty of Basic Engineering;

 

·         Faculty of Management.

 

There are 16 technical directions at the University, which unite more than 50 specialties. There are also divisions of the administration that are engaged in the implementation of individual scientific, didactic assignments. The university library provides an opportunity to acquaint students and staff of the University with scientific literature, scripts, textbooks and information publications in the field of technical sciences, as well as scientific and professional journals. A large selection of foreign literature is presented. The library has about 150 thousand books, there is a subscription to more than 300 Polish printed magazines and 40 foreign publications. Resources are available at convenient time in five faculty libraries and central service centers - the reading room and the patent information and standardization information center. They are located on the campus of Lublin Polytechnic on the street. Nadbytshysky. Since 2009, the digital library of Lublin Polytechnic operates, the purpose of which is Internet access to the university's scientific and educational resources and documents related to its history, as well as the history of science and technology of this region.

A  Special unit of the University is the Bureau for Development and Cooperation, which deals with cooperation with partner organizations and the search for partners to implement joint activities. Within the university there is a Computing Center, whose main task is the creation, maintenance and development of computer systems that support the management of a higher educational institution. The Center also develops materials and documentation, conducts training in the field of computer systems, which it develops. The computer center coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software in all organizational units of univrisity.

 

 

Among the important departments of the university are the Center for Innovation and Advanced Technologies, the Lublin Business Incubator, the Lublin Center for Technology Transfer. The Center for Innovation and Advanced Technologies was created to strengthen and optimize the activities of Lublin Polytechnics in such areas as the popularization of new technologies, the introduction of research results, and the more efficient use of the intellectual and technical potential of the university. The main function of the incubator is to support and popularize the idea of entrepreneurship among students, to awaken the spirit of entrepreneurship among young people and to help start-ups. One of the priorities of the incubator is the attraction of financial resources from external sources, for example, the European Social Fund. They are necessary in the preparation of students, graduates and young researchers in opening their own business and effectively implementing business ideas. Lublin Center for Technology Transfer carries out its mission in the following areas: search and commercialization of scientific research results; popularization of innovative business events and technologies; development of technological cooperation of the Lublin Voivodship, in particular, with the states of the European Union; support the development of innovative enterprises; special education and training; Cooperation with local authorities, government agencies and commercial organizations.

At the end of the ten-day internship, the undergraduates were awarded certificates of successful completion.
