Employers and higher education institutions discussed improving the level and quality of training in the field of metrology and standardization

On June 6, 2023, a meeting was held at the ENU. L.N. Gumilyov, which in a hybrid format brought together experts and industry representatives, 23 higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, government agencies, in order to discuss the current state and develop effective strategies to improve the training of specialists in the field of metrology and standardization.

Various issues were discussed during the meeting, including:

- Analysis of the current situation: the meeting participants analyzed the current situation in the field of metrology and standardization, identified the problems faced by graduates in the process of employment and assessed the requirements of employers for the quality of training.

- Interaction between employers and educational institutions: the need for closer cooperation between employers and higher education institutions was discussed to ensure the relevance of curricula and adapt to changing labor market needs.

- Development of educational programs: within the framework of the meeting, ideas were proposed for the development of joint educational programs between educational institutions and employers, which will allow graduates to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge that meet modern requirements in the field of metrology and standardization.

- Stimulating the attraction of talented students: participants discussed issues related to attracting talented students in the field of metrology and standardization, including the provision of internships and various practices.

The meeting ended with a general recognition of the importance of further cooperation between employers and educational institutions to ensure a high level and quality of training in the field of metrology and standardization. A Declaration on Cooperation between the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology was signed, within the framework of which specific measures will be taken to improve cooperation between employers and educational institutions, as well as to strengthen the position of the metrology and standardization industry in the educational process. The participants expressed their hope for the further development of the partnership and the successful achievement of common goals.
