On February 26, 2021, the first-year students of the educational program "Transport, Transport Equipment and Technologies" held a curatorial hour on the topic "March 1-Thanksgiving Day".

Thanksgiving Day is a bright day of Kazakhstan's patriotism, unity and friendship. The Kazakh people celebrated the Day of Gratitude for the first time in 2016. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev declared January 14, 2016 the day of the Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan, March 1-the Day of "Thanksgiving".

The history of the holiday

The great multinational family of Kazakhstan, which its people are proud of, is the result of several waves of migration. During the Stolypin reforms, entire ethnic groups were deported to the country. Their representatives were unloaded from the wagons directly in the bare steppe, and Kazakh families, who themselves were in extreme need, took them into their homes.

At the beginning of the XX century, 1.1 million people from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine arrived in Kazakhstan, in the distant 1930s, 250 thousand dispossessed peasants were exiled during collectivization, and about 1.2 million more people came to build industrial facilities. All of them were able to get a decent job and survive in Kazakhstan. This is a great achievement of the entire people of the republic. Therefore, the establishment of a special holiday is a tribute of respect and gratitude to the Kazakh people for the indifference they showed to people in difficult times.

The purpose of the holiday " Day of Gratitude"

One of the goals of this holiday is to educate the growing generation of a sense of tolerance, respect, and friendliness to each other, as well as to strengthen inter-ethnic harmony and inter-ethnic relations in Kazakhstan. In the modern world, globalization is blurring borders, and many people on our planet are registered as migrants. Therefore, in the current century, the main exam for the peoples will be the exam on the ability to empathize and not remain indifferent.

The day of gratitude can be called a useful holiday, which carries a great semantic load. It unites people of Kazakhstan. The values of friendship and mutual assistance are eternal, and they are shared by the population of the country.
