My name is Dauletov Akadil, by academic exchange program in the framework of bilateral agreements between ENU. L.N. Gumilyov and its partner universities,I have been studying during the Fall 2019-2020 semester at the University of Louisville, Louisville, USA.
Louisville - is located in the center of northern Kentucky and is the largest city in the state. It is considered the 17th or 27th largest city by population, in the United States, depending on how it is calculated.
Famous natives of the city were: writer and journalist, founder of gonzo journalism Hunter S. Thompson; boxing legend Mohammed Ali; actress Jennifer Lawrence and director Gus Van Saint; inventor Thomas Edison lived in Louisville for a long time and it is the city where Edison’s bulb was shown to the public for the first time; the first library was opened for African Americans; the first transplantation of a living human hand; the first transplantation of a closed artificial heart, and a cancer vaccine is being developed here.
The University of Louisville (U of L) is a public university in Louisville, Kentucky. It is part of the Kentucky state university system and was founded in 1798. The university enrolls students from 118 of 120 Kentucky counties, all 50 U.S. states, and 116 countries around the world.The university consists of 12 different schools and colleges. University of Louisville is one of the most honored and oldest universities in the United States. It ranks 185th in the United States in terms of education quality, among more than 5,000 higher education institutions and 975th in the world ranking.
I was enrolled in the college of art and sciences, in - industrial engineering major. During the semester I have studied disciplines such as: Fundamentals of industrial engineering, Data management and Spreadsheets, Work design and others.Educational institutions’ buildings and student dormitories were located on the campus, where other foreign students also lived and studied.
I would like to note that all foreign, as well as American students, have to pay for their tuition fees. While, all educational expenses of students from Kazakhstan are covered by academic mobility program and Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During my study, I acquired the necessary and useful knowledge for myself, and also learned new practical and technological methods. I hope, in the near future I will be able to usegained knowledge for effective work and contribute to the prosperity of our country.
