undergraduates on an internship at the Lublin Polytechnic University

From October 22 to October 31, 2018 undergraduates of the 2nd course of the department "Standardization and Certification" of the Faculty of Transport and Energy of the Eurasian National University. L.N. Gumileva Esmakambet Aқnұr, Arystan Uiger, Moldakhanov Әdіl, Orynkhan Nazierke completed a scientific training at the Lublin Technical University (Lublin, Poland). The purpose of the scientific internship is to increase the level of theoretical and practical knowledge, exchange of experience, gathering information on the topics of dissertations, as well as strengthening intercultural relations.

Technical University "Lublin Polytechnic" - one of the five public educational institutions of Lublin, with the only high school technical profile. The attractiveness of the university is expressed, first of all, in the high level of education and modern educational programs. Lublin Polytechnic offers educational programs at the first level of education - undergraduate, engineer, master's and doctoral (postgraduate). Most of the educational programs of the university, where the training is conducted, received a high assessment of the quality of the State Accreditation Commission.

Since the founding of the Lublin Polytechnic, it has been training engineering personnel and conducting research, mainly for the Lublin region. The main directions of scientific research are the development of design and technology, environmental protection, as well as the saving of materials and energy. Lublin Polytechnic performs expertise and conducts consulting activities. The results of research in these areas - numerous scientific publications, as well as patents for inventions.
The university has 6 faculties:
     · Faculty of construction and architecture;
     · Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science;
     · Faculty of Environmental Engineering;
     · Faculty of Mechanics;
     · Faculty of basic engineering;
     · Faculty of Management.
 
The university has 16 technical areas that combine more than 50 specialties. There are also departments of the administration, which are engaged in the implementation of individual scientific, didactic tasks. The library of the university provides an opportunity to familiarize students and staff of the university with scientific literature, scripts, textbooks and informational publications in the field of technical sciences, as well as scientific and professional journals. A large selection of foreign literature is presented. The library has about 150 thousand books, there is a subscription to more than 300 Polish printed magazines and 40 foreign publications. Resources are available at convenient times in the five libraries of faculties and central service points - the reading room and the center for information on patents and standardization. They are located on the campus of the Lublin University of Technology on ul. Nadbystyshitskoy. Since 2009, the digital library has been operating. Lublin Polytechnic, whose goal - the Internet access to scientific and educational resources of the university and documents related to its history, as well as the history of science and technology in the region. The university has the following subdivisions of the university administration, which are engaged in the implementation of individual scientific, didactic tasks:

• Center for Innovation and Advanced Technologies;
• Lublin Enterprise Incubator;
• Lublin Technology Transfer Center.
A special division of the university is the Development and Cooperation Bureau, which is engaged in cooperation with partner organizations and the search for partners in order to implement joint activities.
 
The University has a Computing Center, whose main task is the creation, maintenance and development of computing systems that support the management of a higher educational institution. The center also develops materials and documentation, conducts training in the field of computing systems that it develops. The computer center coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software in all organizational units of the university.
Among the important departments of the university are the Center for Innovation and Advanced Technologies, the Lublin Enterprise Incubator, the Lublin Center for Technology Transfer. The Center for Innovations and Advanced Technologies was created to strengthen and optimize the activities of the Lublin University of Technology in such industries as popularizing new technologies, introducing the results of scientific work, as well as more efficient use of the intellectual and technical potential of the university. The main function of the incubator is to support and popularize the idea of ​​entrepreneurship among students, to awaken the spirit of entrepreneurship among young people and to help start-up businessmen. One of the priorities of the activity of the incubator is the attraction of funds from external sources, for example, the European Social Fund. They are necessary in the preparation of students, graduates and young researchers when opening their own business and the effective implementation of business ideas. The Lublin Technology Transfer Center carries out its mission in the following areas: search and commercialization of research results; popularization of innovative business events and technologies; development of technological cooperation of the Lublin province, in particular, with the states of the European Union; support the development of innovative enterprises; special education and vocational training; cooperation with local authorities, government agencies and commercial organizations. A unique material and technical base has been created at the Lublin Polytechnic University, which allows for the provision of research and training at the present level - the physical complex of radiation systems with a wide range of energies and types of accelerated particles: the only educational and research nuclear reactor, electronic synchrotron, cyclotrons, microtrons high-current ion and electron accelerators.
At the disposal of students and scientists modern cryogenic equipment, a wide range of test benches, test and measurement systems, radio-electronic systems, scientific and educational test sites, a developed analytical instrumentation base; telecommunications providing communication with the world.
Students familiarized themselves with the work of the instruments of the department "Metrology", and current international standards as ISO / IEC 2382-37 Information technology - Vocabulary - (Information technology. Dictionary. Part 37. Biometrics), ISO / IEC 24787 -card biometric comparison (Information technology. ID cards. Biometric comparison on an identification card).
At the end of the ten-day internship, undergraduates were awarded certificates of successful completion.
