"Expanding horizons": foreign experience of the student of the department "Standardization and certification"

ENU student Asel Dentayeva talking about how she studied under the program of academic mobility:

My name is Asel, I am a student of the SaC-44 group department of "Standardization and Certification". In the autumn semester, I had the opportunity to study in Lithuania under curriculum of the academic mobility program. I studied in the Kaunas city, at the Vytautas Magnus University.

First of all, I would like to note the flexible system of education. Students themselves have the right to choose subjects that they will attend, that’s why you can immediately notice their interest in discipline. Critical thinking is one of the key qualities which a student must possess. In the exam, you need to answer just two questions, but respond in such a way that the teacher sees that you have approached the topic from different angles. Classes were taught in English, in my group there were guys from different countries - Korea, Spain, France, Brazil - and this is not the whole list.

Immersion in the international atmosphere helps not only to improve the level of English, but also broadens the horizons of your thinking. In general, the atmosphere is very friendly, in case of questions, you could always turn to an international office, where employees are always ready to help you. A student from this university was attached to each exchange student, who helped not only in the training part, but also until he met from the airport. There were a lot of different events for exchange students. For example, the first week was indicative. Every day we gathered, so that we could introduce each other, find friends, immerse ourselves in the culture of the Republic of Lithuania. I can safely say that training in academic mobility is one of the best decisions in my life. So if you are in doubt, you should go abroad for study or not, the answer is unequivocal - "It's worth it!". Such an experience you can’t get anywhere!
