 Base of practices of the department "Standardization, certification and metrology"

 The department has a branch in the RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology" KTRM MIR RK, on the basis of which students and undergraduates undergo industrial, pre-graduate and research practice.

The University constantly conducts questionnaires among graduates, students, employers to assess the satisfaction of the practice bases, as well as the level of students and teachers.  The largest bases for practical training are: LLP "National Accreditation Center", Memorandum of RSE "KazStandart", LLP "Republican Center for Certification of Management Systems", JSC "National Center for Expertise and Certification", LLP "Shart-2008", LLP "ABK-Laboratory", LLP "BusinessCertificationCenter", LLP "SK Promtechservice" and others.

In the educational process (for conducting research and passing research practice), the material and technical base of the National Accreditation Center (NCA) LLP is used. The Department has signed a cooperation agreement with NCA LLP (agreement dated December 23, 2019).

Educational practice

Educational practice aims to deepen and set scientific-theoretical knowledge of students, to develop skills practical, and in many cases and research, to acquaint with the modern equipment.

 

 

 

 

Internship

The work practice is held in governing bodies, the enterprises, the organizations of the state and non-state ownership, having a direct bearing on production (services), processes (works), the equipment of the enterprises and testing laboratories (centers), methods and measuring instruments, tests and control, standard documentation, the systems of standardization, certification and quality management, metrological support of production, social and ecological activity, design, production and operation of the measuring equipment.

 

 

  

Undergraduate practice

Undergraduate practice is defined as the final stage of student learning.  during the practice, the student must collect materials for research, as well as acquire and consolidate the skills of writing a work.The place of the undergraduate practice depends on the specifics of the topic of the thesis, as well as the interests of the student.  Most often, the base of practice is an enterprise or organization.The management of pre-graduation practice is assigned to the graduating department.  She must necessarily develop guidelines in accordance with the characteristics of the specialty of students, the themes of their theses.

 

 

 

 

Teaching practice

 Student teaching is one of the most important components of the scientific and pedagogical direction of training of masters. The purpose of student teaching is development at undergraduates of high level of pedagogical culture, skills of the organization of pedagogical process at the higher school and innovative activity in education.

 

    

Research practice

Research practice of undergraduates of the scientific and pedagogical direction is an integral part of preparation of scientific shots for the system of the higher and postgraduate education, the research sector having profound scientific and pedagogical preparation capable to solve relevant problems of economy, to form the personality meeting the modern requirements of society.Heads the practician before practice instruct introduction and primary and acquaint students with the purposes the practician. After passing the practician students prepare reports on the done work and fill out diaries of practice.

 On April 20, 2020, a meeting of 4th-year students of the direction "Standardization, certification and Metrology" with employers was held. Representatives of employers – RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Certification" and RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology" of the Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology of the MTI RK were invited to the meeting.

The following topics were discussed at the meeting:

The head of the Department for Training and Research Gulmayda Karimova presented the RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Certification" of the KTRM of the MTI RK.

Deputy Director General Dauren Sharipov spoke at the meeting on behalf of the RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology".

Opening the meeting, Head of the Department" Standardization, Certification and Metrology " Bakhytkul Baykhozhaeva noted that this format of the meeting (online), despite its unusual nature, has its positive aspects. First, there is the opportunity to be interviewed by several employers. Secondly, the excitement factor of the candidate for the vacant position is reduced.

"Monitoring the employment of our graduates of previous years shows that the percentage of employment in the specialty is quite high (80-87%).  However, as the results of the rating of NCE "Atameken" show, the salaries of our graduates leave much to be desired (about 135 thousand tenge). For example, graduates of the specialty "Standardization, certification and Metrology", who graduated from the Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications named after M. Tynyshpayev, earn over 230 thousand tenge. The average duration of our graduates ' job search after graduation is 3.9 months. We are now on the 7th place of the "Atameken" rating among 44 universities that train specialists in this field. For comparison, in the last year of 2018, we took the 4th place.

The department is doing a lot of work to solve this problem. Educational programs are developed in accordance with professional standards, meetings with employers are constantly held, and surveys of graduates of previous years are conducted. the quality of teaching is improving, the teaching staff of the department improves their skills at seminars organized by the Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology, we improve the work on finding practice bases. Many employers invite graduates to work who have passed their internship and have shown their best side. Today we have invited leading employers who have kindly agreed to answer the questions of our students, " said Bakhytkul Uzakovna.

Gulmayda Karimova in her speech focused on the problems of the demand for graduates, the required competencies. Specialists are required not only to have knowledge, but also to be able to adapt to the work team, to be sociable, etc.  She also spoke about the requirements for candidates and the opportunities that open up for applicants. In her speech, Karimova Gulmayda touched upon the development of the RSE "Kazinst", the program of support for young professionals, opportunities for professional growth of young employees.

They describe all the requirements for the qualification of specialists in this field. Regarding salaries, yes, there is a practice when employers take on a job

young specialists from the university, even without work experience and with incomplete higher education.  It's profitable. Applicants are quite motivated, active, and try to do the work efficiently, but at the same time for a lower salary.  There is such a problem. But we are not supporters of this approach, " the employer said.

In his speech, Deputy Director General of the RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology" Dauren Sharipov touched upon the issues of employment of graduates, spoke in great detail and in detail about metrology, its importance for the country's economy.  

         "There is also a professional standard for metrology, it is called "Metrology". About the specialty. We know that the specialty four years ago was divided into two areas "Standardization and certification" and "Metrology".

Our institute is engaged not only in measurements, not only in devices, but also in standardization, we are engaged in the development of standards in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements, the development of regulatory documents, for example, rules, procedures. That is, theoretically, you can be interesting to us if you are sufficiently trained in the field of metrology, especially the disciplines in metrology you have passed.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that specialists of this profile, like you, can work anywhere. Specialists in the field of quality and safety of products and services are needed everywhere. The demand for such specialists is very high. In industrial enterprises, the service sector, institutions and organizations. You can always find a job if you have the necessary knowledge and skills.

I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that many enterprises are now operating remotely during the quarantine period . The situation, of course, with enterprises, is not clear. It is difficult to say how the situation will be after the quarantine. Perhaps many will switch to a new format of work. You will need digital skills. Now KTRM has implemented the e-KTRM system, on the platform of which E - accreditation, E - standardization, E - state control, E - metrology , E - certification, E-TC, etc. are created and operate.  Now a new Law "On Technical Regulation" is being developed, in this regard, a related package of amendments is being made to the Laws "On Standardization", "On Accreditation", "On Ensuring the Uniformity of Measurements", the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Business Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, etc.

During the meeting, an online interview was conducted with graduates whose resumes were previously sent to employers by e-mail.

Future graduates asked questions. It was decided to use the online interview more actively, and to hold a meeting with representatives of conformity assessment bodies, accreditation bodies, and testing laboratories by the end of April.
